Passing on the Shoulder

This evening while driving along a 2-lane road with a rather wide shoulder, I slowed down. The reason for slowing down will become apparent momentarily. Evidently, this slowdown aggravated the impatient Tesla driver behind me. This Tesla attempted to pass me using the shoulder. To his credit, he moved onto the shoulder and accelerated all in one swift movement. One moment he was behind me, the next he was almost even with me.

And then he hit the brakes HARD!

The Tesla driver would likely have succeeded in passing me had there not been a police officer on the shoulder with lights on and a car pulled over. Oops!

Unfortunately, I'm the only one who noticed the Tesla driver's move.
